NDTV feature on Jana Natya Manch

Recently a theater festival, Sarkash was conducted in Mumbai which featured work (among others) by the revolutionary street theater group, Jana Natya Manch (Janam). The festival celebrated Janam's work and leading artistes from the Indian film industry volunteered to act along with other members of Janam's troupe.

For those in the know, Janam was founded by left wing theater amateurs in 1973 and featured among others, the talented artiste, Safdar Hashmi, who was murdered by Congress goons while perfoming a play highlighting the woes of workers in Sahibabad near New Delhi.

The NDTV news channel has produced a feature on Janam and Safdar that is a must see.
